Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo a great success
The Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo celebrated its ninth year on Saturday, Sept. 7.
With 408 riders, 136 volunteers and an estimated 1,200 people involved, this event has, again, earned its reputation as ‘The Best Gran Fondo in Canada.’
More than 65% of the riders come to the Cranbrook/ Kimberley area from Calgary, Vancouver, Seattle, Ontario and even from Europe.
Based on the Economic Impact Assessment provided by Cranbrook Tourism in 2023, we know that positive total financial benefits are in the order of $750,000 for the Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo (www.krgf.ca).
