Labour Day Sports Day at Fort Steele
Fort Steele Heritage Town is happy to announce that this Sunday, September 1, it will be hosting a Special Heritage Event: Our first Labour Day Sports Day.
This is a āback to 1898ā event, and all events will be in Fort Steele. We are planning events that are typical of a community sports day of the period. All staff will engage in the activities, in costume, and they look forward to lots of fun with all who decide to come on out to Fort Steele to join our hardworking staff as we engage in a an end of the season celebration!
Featured events include: Three Legged Races, Sack Races, Egg and Spoon Races, The Egg Toss, a Hoop and Stick race (pre-training provided) and, finally the Tug Oā War! All events have categories for Under 10 years of age, 10+ and Adults.
Fort Steele also invites all to Bring Your Own Picnic, and join everyone on the lawn in front of the Wasa Hotel, around the Bandstand, at noon. Our bakery will also be open for delicious treats at Mrs. Underhillās reasonable prices.
Admission for this last day of events, as well as on Monday, the last day of the Fort Steele season, will be $10.99 per person – which is Fort Steeleās best deal for a full day of programming yet! Site Staff look forward to hosting everyone – itās a great day to celebrate what the hard working staff have managed to get really going as Fort Steele continues to rebuild!
The festivities begin at 10 a.m. and last until closing at 4 p.m. Come one and come all.
