M2BL wants you to turn clutter into care
Whatâs gathering dust in your garage could be a lifeline for animals in need. Meant 2B Loved Pet Rescue Society is calling on the community to turn their unwanted items into treasures that support local animal welfare.
The Society will host a fundraising yard sale on September 7, from 9a.m. to 3 p.m., with all proceeds going toward veterinary bills and essential care for animals currently in their care.
âWe may be on an intake freeze due to a shortage of foster homes, but our responsibilities to the animals weâve already rescued remain as demanding as ever,â said Darryl Dux, a board member of Meant 2B Loved.
âEvents like this yard sale are crucial for us to keep up with the mounting expenses.â
Beyond rescuing domestic animals, Meant 2B Loved is dedicated to controlling the feral cat population through humane Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs.
TNR is the most effective and compassionate method for managing free-roaming and feral cats, but it comes at a steep costâbetween $115 and $220 per cat. Unlike adoptable animals, the expenses for these feral cats are not offset by adoption fees, adding to the financial strain on the rescue.
The yard sale couldnât come at a better time. With bottle donations, a major source of the rescueâs income, dwindling and volunteer numbers shrinking, every dollar raised is more vital than ever.
âMeant 2B Loved operates entirely on volunteer efforts and receives no external funding,â Dux added. âWe rely on fundraisers like this to continue our mission, and weâve always been able to count on our communityâs generosity. Weâre excited to see what unique items will be donated and hope everyone marks September 7 on their calendar.â
To donate items for the yard sale, please contact [email protected] to arrange drop-off or pick-up.
The sale will be held at 561 Industrial Road C, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on September 7. Donât miss the chance to find a treasure while making a difference in the lives of animals in need!
