MLA Shypitka urges NDP to see potential in LNG
Kootenay East MLA Tom Shypitka, Opposition Critic for Mines and Low Carbon Innovation, is calling on the NDP government to realize the full potential of liquid natural gas (LNG)
Rising in the Legislature today, Shypitka spoke about the jobs and opportunities that LNG expansion can provide for First Nations and communities, and outlined how the ethical and transitional LNG industry can be the champion that will assist the reduction in GHG emissions.
Skypitka also noted how the expansion and export of ethical LNG can fill the gaps created by the unjust war in Ukraine, providing our allies with another alternative to authoritarian regimes like Russia.
“Instead, we will likely see another missed opportunity by the NDP to assist our allies and bring benefits to communities in B.C.,” he said.
