The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) board of directors will feature two new electoral members after today’s election.

Thomas McDonald is the new Electoral Area A Director, capturing 245 votes, over challengers Lee-Anne Walker (228 votes) and Hungry J Baytaluke (20 votes).

Roberta Schnider is the new Electoral Area G Director, earning 202 votes, defeating challenger Stephanie Stevens (93 votes).

Incumbent Electoral Area E Director Jane Walter is returning to office after defeating challenger Nowell Berg (191 to 154 votes).

Three electoral area directors were acclaimed, including current Chair Rob Gay (Area C) and Stan Doehle (Area B) and Susan Clovechok (Area F).
