New fire west of JimSmith as Stirton Road held
BC Wildfire Service firefighters are atop a new fire located about 2.5 km west of Lakeview Drive and JimSmith Lake, and half a kilometre south of Kiakho Lakes this afternoon (August 10).
Estimated at .01 hectare, the suspected cause of the Kiakho Creek fire is unknown at this time.
Meanwhile, the fire off Stirton Road, east of Marysville (pictured right), is being held at 2.93 ha, BC Wildfire Service reports.
Discovered August 9, the fire grew to four ha before heavy air and ground actioning knocked it back.
