New release Kickin’ Round the Kootenays perfectly named
With song titles such as Bud Abbott, Kootenay Pass, Jumbo Free, Dan Joe, Loose Lines and North Star featuring the talents of more than 10 local artists, Kickin’ Round the Kootenays is perfectly named and crafted.
Douglas Francis Mitchell penned all 16 songs on the recently released album, featuring the diverse talents of Wally Smith, Rod Wilson, Christina Blaskovich, Barry Coulter, James Neve, Dave Prinn, Randy Marchi, Ally Blake, Gwen Phillips and the Adrumnik Drum Group.
“I realize Taylor Swift just “dropped” a new album so it’s not a good time for ‘Kickin’ Round the Kootenays’ to be released. Taylor’s media blitz has made it difficult getting booked on late night talk shows and even getting airplay on CBC and local radio,” quipped Mitchell.
James Neve, who plays 12-string guitar and vocals on Bud Abbott, recorded, mixed and produced the album at Neve Media Studio in Wycliffe.
