Kootenay East MLA Tom Shypitka today spoke in the Legislature about the profound impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the delivery of government services and the resulting consequences for British Columbians.

Shypitka spoke about how staffing shortages caused by COVID-19 are affecting the delivery of health care, with medical testing companies like LifeLabs cancelling appointments and ​some hospital emergency rooms closing for days and sometimes weeks.

Additionally, Shypitka spoke on the backlogs at ICBC and how months-long waits for road tests are dramatically affecting the lives of British Columbians.
