On June 1, at approximately 7 a.m., Cranbrook RCMP and BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) attended a report of a fatal collision involving two passenger vehicles and a commercial vehicle on Highway 3 east of Cranbrook.

DriveBC reports the incident occurred between Pritchard Road and Abbey Pit Road, 15 km east of Cranbrook.

BCHP – Cranbrook has conduct of the investigation with engagement from Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement and Worksafe BC.

The investigation is in the very early stages and information is subject to change. Highway 3 is anticipated to be closed for at least several hours and motorists are asked to check DriveBC for updates.
