RDEK Chair and Vice Chair acclaimed for 2025
The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) Chair and Vice Chair will continue on in their roles for the coming year after being acclaimed by the RDEK Board of Directors.
Electoral Area C Director Rob Gay was acclaimed for his 14th term as Chair.
āOur board is highly effective and a big part of that successful working relationship lies in our collective effort to be collaborative and respectful of differing opinions. This makes for good, well-rounded discussion and decision making, and I am honoured to have the continued support from my fellow directors and to serve another year as Chair,ā said Gay.
The Electoral Area C Director has been on the Board since 2005 and is the RDEKās longest serving Chair. November 8 marked his 157th consecutive meeting.
Electoral Area F Director Susan Clovechok was elected by acclamation as Vice Chair for a fifth year.
āOver the past four years, I have deeply valued the learning opportunities I have had, not only in this capacity as Vice Chair, but from my fellow directors around the table who are all strong leaders in their communities,ā said Clovechok.
āAs directors, we are not directly involved in day-to-day operations; however, my background in organizational operations has given me the ability to draw upon my experience in organizational efficiency when appropriate to contribute to the continued excellence of the RDEK and I look forward to serving this region as Vice Chair for another year.ā
The elections took place during the Nov. 8 RDEK board meeting.
