RDEK holding special budget meeting Feb. 12
The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) Board of Directors will be meeting on Wednesday, February 12 to go over the draft Five Year Financial Plan.
“The RDEK full financial plan is quite complex in that it is unlike a municipality that has one boundary and one set of taxpayers,” explained RDEK Board Chair Rob Gay. “Different areas of the RDEK require different services and a separate meeting day to focus only on the Five-Year Financial Plan benefits both the board and the public.”
The RDEK Board will meet on Wednesday, February 12, in the RDEK Board Room at 19 24 Avenue South, Cranbrook. The meeting is open to the public and the time and agenda will be posted on the evening of February 7.
The meeting will also be livestreamed via Zoom and the Zoom link will be posted the evening of February 11 at www.rdek.bc.ca.
The RDEK’s regular February Committee and Board Meetings will follow on Thursday, February 13, and Friday, February 14, respectively.
Once the changes identified by the board have been incorporated, an updated draft plan will be posted and a public comment period opened by February 19 on engage.rdek.bc.ca.
