Regional Remembrance Day ceremonies

With the horrors of the Russia/Ukraine War hanging before all of us, there is no better time to remember the sacrifices made for all by our military, police and first responders this Nov. 11.

Remembrance Day ceremonies will once again be conducted throughout the region through Royal Canadian Legions, Military Ames or municipal governments.

In Cranbrook, join the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 24 at Rotary Park for its Remembrance Day Ceremony, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

In Kimberley, Military Ames is ready to host a full ceremony, with the veteransā€™ parade beginning at 11:45 a.m. For those marching in the parade, assembly takes place at 10:35 a.m. in front of Moody Bee in The Platzl.

Edgewater Legion (Branch No. 199) ā€“ Please check their Facebook page for up-to-the-day details.

The Fernie Royal Canadian Legion (Branch No. 36) is once again hosting a service at the Fernie Cenotaph following the 10:30 a.m. veteransā€™ parade.

The Sparwood (Michel-Natal) Legion (Branch No. 81) Remembrance Day Ceremony will take place at the Cenotaph at 11 a.m.

The Village of Canal Flats will be holding a ceremony at the Cenotaph. The village is searching for volunteers to help stage the event. Please contact the village office

Finally, the Invermere Legion (Branch No. 71) and Edgewater Legion (Branch No. 199) have plenty taking place this Friday.Ā  SeeĀ  moreĀ  below.
