SAR teams combine on rope rescue near Moyie Falls

On Sunday, September 8, three East Kootenay search and rescue (SAR) teams combined to perform a rescue near Moyie Falls.

Columbia Valley SAR was called out as mutual aid to help with Kimberley SAR and Cranbrook SAR on a rope rescue.

A team of CVSAR rope rescue and advanced medical members responded and assisted with patient care and transport, the unit reported on social media.

“There are 78 Search and Rescue teams in British Columbia. Mutual Aid is the term given to situations when neighbouring Search and Rescue teams are asked to assist with a local task. It’s always a pleasure to work with our neighbours to the south,” CVSAR stated.
