SD5 provides update on return-to-school

School District No. 5 Southeast Kootenay (SD5) this afternoon provided an update on back-to-school information following the provincial government’s Dec. 29 announcement that a full return to school will be delayed until Monday, Jan. 10.

In a message going to all staff and parents, SD5 noted: “Further to yesterday’s message where we communicated that schools would open for most students on January 10 for regular instruction, our schools will also be open starting Tuesday, January 4 for the care of health care workers’ school aged children (ages five to 12), for the children of school staff, and for essential service workers children.

“Please note, schools will not be providing regular instruction for this first week. As well, our schools are providing care for students who need additional connection to school at this time. Please contact your school Principal if your children will be attending school on Tuesday, January 4.”

Busses will be running as per usual.
