Starlite season fundraising for EKRH and Durand Manor

It’s the annual Starlite Season for the East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH).

This year’s holiday giving is focused on two major projects in the region.

We are raising $1 million towards a big campaign that will support major improvements to oncology and renal care at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH).

Our hope is that these improvements will make a big difference in comfort, privacy, and bringing treatment options close to home in the East Kootenay for our health care professionals, patients, and families and loved ones.

We are also raising $100,000 for much needed furniture upgrades at the Durand Manor long term care home in Golden. These upgrades will go towards replacing much of the original furniture that dates to when the lodge was first built. The new furniture will be safe, comfortable, accessible, and go a long way towards helping the space feel like home for the residents.

There are many donation options during the Canada Post strike for those donors who want to make sure their donation reaches us before the end of 2024. Donations can be made:

– Online at ekfh.ca.

– In person at the EKFH office in the lobby of the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. There is a mail slot for cheques and envelopes when the office is closed.

– By credit card over the phone by calling 250-489-6481.

– Cheques can also be dropped off at any of the East Kootenay hospitals and health centres.

On behalf of all of us at EKFH, thank you to all our donors and supporters who give so generously in support of health care across the region. Your support, no matter how large or how small, has touched the lives of so many staff, patients, and communities across the region. You are saving lives and making the East Kootenay a better place.

Thank you for all that you do.
