Winter storm warning continues for Kootenay Pass
Environment Canada has this morning issued another winter storm warning for Highway 3 – Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass.
Hazardous winter conditions are expected this morning to Thursday night (Nov. 14), with heavy snowfall that can cause reduced visibility. Expect slippery driving conditions.
“A Pacific frontal system is forecast to impact the Highway 3 – Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass beginning this morning until Thursday night. Snowfall accumulation of 30 – 50 cm is expected,” Environment Canada stated.
“Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for taillights ahead and be prepared to stop.”
The site shiftintowinter.ca reminds drivers to know before you go. Adjust to winter driving behaviour and use winter tires and chains. Road conditions are available at drivebc.ca.
