Canada wide warrant issued for Randall Hopley

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is searching for Randall Hopley.

The former Sparwood resident who kidnapped a toddler in September 2011, launching one of the largest manhunts in East Kootenay history, before being arrested four days later in Crowsnest Pass, has failed to return to his halfway house and is now wanted Canada-wide, VPD reported in a press release.

Vancouver Police are searching for the high-risk sex offender, now 58, who was last seen Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. VPD has released his picture (above) with hopes that someone will recognize him and call 9-1-1.

After serving jail time for his 2011 crimes, Hopley was lodged in a halfway house in Vancouver.

Hopley has a history of sexual assault, assault, and property crime convictions. He has committed three offences of a sexual nature against children in the past, VPD noted.

Hopley is 5’9″ tall and 176 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel-coloured eyes. He was last seen wearing a black coat, black pants, and a black hat.

Anyone who sees Randall Hopley, or has information on his whereabouts, is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
