Fernie and Sparwood Search and Rescue (SAR) teams responded to rescue two cliffed-out sledders Saturday night (Jan. 20), with the call passed along by RCMP.

“They were well-prepared and were able make themselves comfortable for the night,” reported Fernie SAR on social media Jan. 21.

Poor flying conditions yesterday morning meant that longline rescue was not possible so two Fernie SAR techs were dropped off and toured into them and then guided them out to where they could be picked up by snowmobile, SAR outlined.
