Collective agreements reached at Fording River and Elkview
Teck Resources Ltd. announced today that about 1,900 unionized employees at two of its Elk Valley coal mines have ratified new six-year collective agreements
Fording River Operations unionized employees have ratified a new six-year collective agreement, replacing one that expired on April 30.
“We are pleased to have reached a collective agreement that is fair to employees and supports the ongoing success of Fording River Operations,” said Richard Whittington, General Manager, Fording River Operations.
The agreement covers approximately 1,100 unionized employees at Fording River Operations, represented by the United Steelworkers Local 7884.
Teck also announced today that unionized employees at Elkview Operations have ratified a new six-year collective agreement, replacing one that expired on October 31, 2020.
“We are pleased to have reached a new six-year collective agreement,” said Laura Gislason, General Manager, Elkview Operations. “We would like to thank all parties who were involved in the process and who contributed to this positive outcome.”
The agreement covers approximately 800 unionized employees at Elkview Operations, represented by the United Steelworkers Local 9346.
