Cold creating havoc on Elkford garbage collection
Having a hard time getting warmed up during this extreme cold snap? So are our garbage trucks!
It’s commercial garbage collection day today (Jan. 12), but both the regular and backup garbage trucks are experiencing mechanical issues this morning. One of the trucks was expected to be up and running to perform commercial garbage collection by approximately 10 a.m.
Note that yesterday, during residential garbage pickup, we were unable to complete pickup for some areas of Cariboo Drive, Cassiar Drive, Chimo Crescent, Cascade Crescent, Camberton Place and Casino Crescent. Residents who live on these streets—whose garbage was not collected yesterday—can place their garbage cans curbside and leave them unlocked for pickup this morning, as well.
