The BC Conservation Officer Service is thanking volunteers who were able to track down an injured red fox last week in Elkford.

The injury resulted from a small leg hold (trap) on the fox’s leg.

The Conservation Officer Service advises residents that it is illegal to trap in town. Under the Wildlife Act, the Conservation Officer Service has a file open for unlawfully trapping wildlife and is asking the public’s assistance in reporting any known information about this incident by calling 1-877-952-7277.
