Elkford ready to host a busy Wildcat Days
Ready for a wild time? This Canada Day long weekend, join us for Elkford’s most epic event of the summer: Wildcat Days!
Help us kick off the festivities tomorrow (Friday) with the Wild Cubs summer social (for kids up to six years), family slow-pitch ball tournament and a beach day-themed pool party at the Aquatic Centre (regular admission rates apply). Don’t forget to bring your appetite, as the Devonian concession and mobile food trucks will be serving up snacks all weekend long!
Tomorrow evening, head downtown to the gazebo (between the District Office and Community Conference Centre), to enjoy a frosty cold beverage in the beer gardens and listen to Lethbridge’s rock legends—the Chevelles—while you watch our famous fireworks show!
Of course, the beer gardens on Friday and Saturday are for ages 19+ only, but all ages are welcome to enjoy the live tunes at Elkford’s Meeting Place.
Fireworks will light up the night sky tomorrow once darkness falls (approximately 10 p.m.), so a friendly PSA for pet owners to please look out for your four-legged family members. Please keep pets safely secured indoors and ensure they are calm, have a place to relax and are wearing up-to-date identification before the fireworks start.
What else is happening at Wildcat Days this year?
Saturday, Sunday and Monday are also jam-packed with family-friendly fun, including the annual parade, show and shine, market, grass smash volleyball tournament, pancake breakfast, fire trucks (and your local firefighters!), mobile escape rooms, petting zoo, face painting and entertainers, book sale, art show, bike races, glow golf, community cabaret (ages 19+), crafts and games, bouncy houses and sumo suits, carnival booths, free public swim and Monday’s free Canada Day BBQ (featuring live tunes by Lord Knows)—plus so much more!
