During the inaugural District of Elkford council meeting Nov. 8, these fine folks were sworn in to serve your community for the 2022 to 2026 term.

We are thrilled to present Mayor Steve Fairbairn and Councillors Shawna Bryant, Duncan McDonald, Jason Meldrum, Len Gostick, Tathlina Lovlin and Bert Schalekamp as your newly elected officials. Representing their peers and providing a voice for the youth of our community are Youth Councillors, Abigail Talbot and Alex Sheppard, who will join council for a one-year term.

Your elected officials are entrusted with making decisions that directly affect the daily lives of every resident and business in our community. They are responsible for contributing to the betterment of our local government, providing leadership and both serving and acting on behalf of all citizens of Elkford. They play a critical role in keeping our community vibrant, healthy and successful, both socially and economically.

The first regular meeting of council will be on November 14 at 6 p.m. All regular council meetings are open to the public, and we hope to see you there.
