During Question Period today (Oct. 5), Kootenay East MLA Tom Shypitka slammed the NDP government for leaving Elkford Health Centre’s emergency department ‘temporarily’ closed for two years with no clarity when it will reopen.

Shamefully, NDP Health Minister Adrian Dix has referred to “this and other ER closures throughout B.C. as the new normal,” Shypitka stated.

Minister Dix replied his government is “taking action” and outlined how.
