Urban Wildlife Committee meeting in Elkford April 11
The Urban Wildlife Committee is hosting their first-ever interactive community event in Elkford on April 11. This event is free, family-friendly and everyone is welcome.
On Thursday, April 11, plan to be at the Community Conference Centre (750 Fording Drive) from 4 to 8 p.m. for door prizes, giveaways, a free barbecue sponsored by Teck Coal Ltd., games for kids and hands-on demonstrations, safety talks and advice from renowned wildlife experts and organizations.
Donât miss presentations on important topics like bear awareness, wildlife safety, stewardship and rehabilitationâplus, free giveaway bags will be handed out to the first 50 kids through the door!

- Wildsafe BC;
- Grizzly bear biologist, Clayton T. Lamb, PhD;
- Canadian Bear Safety Authority founder and owner, John Clarke;
- Grizzly Bear Coexistence Solutions;
- Wildlife rehabilitator for Little Mittens Wildlife Rescue, Kaida Wannamaker, RVT;
- WildsightâReconnecting the Rockies.
