Worker hurt in serious incident at Greenhills
Teck Coal Limited reports there was a serious incident today (Jan. 28) at the Greenhills Operations.
At approximately 12 p.m. today, there was a serious incident in a contractor maintenance shop at the Greenhills Operation in which a contract employee was injured.
The contract employee has been airlifted to hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.
“We are focused on providing all the support we can to the affected contract employee, his family and colleagues at this difficult time. No other employees or contractors were injured, and there is no ongoing safety or environmental risk,” Teck reported in a media alert.
Appropriate authorities have been notified, and an investigation into the incident will be undertaken, the company outlined.
