100 Women Who Care Fernie raises $84k for local causes

Since its start in 2020, 100 Women Who Care Fernie has made a huge impact on our community, raising over $84,000 to support local groups and causes close to home. Through nine Giving Events, these generous women have come together to boost local organizations that help make Fernie and its surrounding areas stronger.

The Giving Events follow a simple yet powerful idea: each member donates $100, nominates a favorite local cause, and six nominations are randomly selected to be pitched at the event. After hearing the pitches, members vote for their top two choices, and the two organizations with the most votes share all the funds raised.

On November 7, the group’s most recent Giving Event raised $10,412, which was shared among three fantastic causes: Triangle Women’s Institute, Elk Valley Family Society – Chrysalis House, and Fernie Adaptive Snowsports, the last two tying for second place. These funds will help each group continue their important work in our community.

This event was even more special thanks to support from local businesses like Castle on 1st, Fernie Catering Co., Mountain Luxe Services & Events, Patti’s Party Tent Rentals, SOAR Studios, and Gabbi Escobar Film & Digital Photography.

100 Women Who Care Fernie is about more than donations—it’s about creating a positive ripple effect in our town. Each event is a chance for people to come together, show they care, and make a meaningful difference.
