Did you know that Fernie is home to the largest ammonite fossil in North America?

Access to the fossil is currently strictly prohibited; however, thanks to the help of Dinosaur Valley Studios, Tourism Fernie, and the Visitor Services Experience Enhancement Grant courtesy of Destination BC, you can now see the incredible size of this fossil with an exact replica at the Fernie Visitor Centre (pictured above).

The Visitor Centre is currently open 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday – Saturday. Come and visit us!
