Bruce Elson presented George S Majic Spiritus Award
Last night, City of Fernie council awarded the 2024 George S Majic Spiritus Award to Bruce Elson.
Bruce exemplifies the spirit of giving and has shown unwavering commitment to our community, donating thousands of hours to many local causes and organizations.
If you’ve attended an event in Fernie, chances are he was there volunteering – the list of his contributions is endless, but includes: RCR ski host, Cycling without Age Pilot, Angel Flights Volunteer Fundraiser, Crowd Control at Griz Days Parade, Lion’s Derby Volunteer, Fernie Golf Course – Course Marshal and Coordinator of Senior Men’s Golf. And that isn’t even half of it!
The Spiritus Award celebrates community members whose contribution and commitment to our city embody strong community values and enhance the lives of fellow residents. This award is presented annually by the City of Fernie in memory of Mr. George Majic, a man dedicated to supporting his community and enriching the lives of others.
