Country stars unite for A Night for NICU

Funds raised will support the construction of a Tier 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

On June 15, at the Demolition Grounds near Fernie, businesses and artists across the country will join forces to support the construction of a Tier 3 Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) unit at East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

Spearheaded by The Bearspaw Contracting Community First Society, in collaboration with The Festival Company and the Canadian country music community, A Night for NICU promises an unforgettable evening of music and philanthropy.

Canadian country artists including Meghan Patrick, JoJo Mason, Aaron Pritchett, Kelly Prescott, Jason Blaine, Chad Brownlee, and other surprise guests have rallied together in hopes of raising $1.8 million for the Warm Embrace Campaign. This coming together of artists from across Canada showcases the power of unity and the shared commitment to supporting families in need.

“We are thrilled to have the support of these incredible artists and organizations to help us reach our goal of building a Tier 3 NICU unit in Cranbrook,” said Billie Jo Aasen, Chief Executive Officer of The Festival Company (TFC). “Together, we can ensure that every newborn in the East Kootenay region receives the critical care they need, right here at home.”

The event, set against the backdrop of a picturesque farm near the stunning Rocky Mountain town of Fernie, promises to be a one-of-a-kind experience, bringing together music lovers and philanthropists alike in support of a worthy cause.

The addition of a Tier 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to East Kootenay Regional Hospital will help keep care for these newborns and their families in the region. The NICU will provide new specialized equipment and health care professionals, allowing more newborns to receive care in the East Kootenays. This will save new parents and families from long, stressful, and expensive hospital stays across the province.

The NICU project, totaling $3.16 million, is a joint initiative involving the Province of BC, the Kootenay East Regional Hospital District, East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH), and Bearspaw Community First.

Donors, whether contributing in trade or cash, will receive recognition in the NICU through a dedicated plaque, honouring their generosity and support.
