Driver rescued from Elk River
Fernie Fire Rescue saved a driver from the icy depths of the Elk River yesterday evening near Morrissey.
The incident occurred at about 5 p.m. Fernie firefighters were soon on scene and conducted a courageous rescue, with the driver being taken to shore aboard an inflatable raft.
BC Ambulance tended to the driver once he was ashore.
