Fernie candidates outline platforms during Oct. 4 forum
It was a crowded stage at the Fernie Community Centre Oct. 4 during the Fernie Chamber of Commerce’s All-Candidates’ Forum.
The evening featured 13 of the 14 candidates running for council, and both mayoral candidates, incumbent Ange Qualizza and challenger Nic Milligan, answering questions and showcasing their awareness of city issues.
The forum, attended by about 250 voters, was the largest in the East Kootenay with Fernie garnering the most candidates for council. The forum was moderated by Glen Purdy (Q.C., M.S.M.).
