Fernie fifth in KIJHL Power Rankings
The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) completed its 10th week of regular season action for the 2024-25 season. The KIJHL Power Rankings highlight the top-five teams based on winning percentage, with various tie-breakers to help decide positioning.
The Revelstoke Grizzlies climb into the top spot after a pair of wins in the Cariboo. The Grizzlies defeated the Williams Lake Mustangs 5-3, then earned a 5-2 win over the Quesnel River Rush.
The Grand Forks Border Bruins find themselves in the No.2 spot after winning two of their three road games. They started with a 3-2 shootout win over the Golden Rockets, then lost 3-2 in overtime to the Columbia Valley Rockies. They completed their trip with a 4-3 win over the Creston Valley Thunder Cats.
The Princeton Posse dropped to the No. 3 spot after splitting their weekend games. The Posse earned a 4-2 win at home, then traveled to Kelowna and lost 6-3 to the Chiefs.
The Beaver Valley Nitehawks dropped down a spot following a weekend home-and-home sweep over the Castlegar Rebels. The Nitehawks won 3-1, then blanked the Rebels 3-0 with Connor Stojan earning the shutout.
The Fernie Ghostriders get back in the top-five with the help of winning their two weekend games. They earned a 2-1 overtime victory over the Creston Valley Thunder Cats, then picked up a tight 5-4 win over the Kimberley Dynamiters.
