Four Fernie Fire Department members and the Fire Chief responded to a three vehicle MVA near Elko Oct. 10.

“It was a challenging incident with two people trapped in separate vehicles. We were able to safely extricate both people and transfer them into the care of BC Ambulance,” Fernie Professional Fire Fighters Local 2827 reported on social media.

“Simultaneously, we had other members respond to a small brush fire above the Ridgemont subdivision and a separate medical incident. We were able to mitigate all incidents in cooperation with the Elk Valley RCMP and BC Ambulance service.”
