At approximately 4 p.m. today (August 21), Fernie Search and Rescue (SAR) was tasked by Elk Valley RCMP to respond to an injured mountain biker on the Montane trail system.

The injured biker had sustained a fractured lower leg and was packaged and transported via wheeled stretcher and the SAR rescue truck, and was handed off to BC Ambulance. Thanks to the fellow bikers for the assistance on scene, Fernie SAR reported on social media.
