The Fernie Old School Boxing Club, is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community for over 12 years.
This generous contribution will boost the club’s efforts to benefit local youth and the community at large. Michael Johnson, President of the club said, “This donation is huge for our club. The money is going to help us continue to offer the local community a safe place to learn to box, work out, and develop our kids programming.”
The financial support from The Fernie Fox Hotel will be directed towards enhancing the club’s kids’ programs and acquiring essential equipment.
The Fernie Old School Boxing Club, staffed entirely by volunteers, has seen numbers grow since inception. Their contributions to the community include hosting events like Judgment Night, making charitable donations themselves, and organizing fundraisers. Furthermore, the club has been a beacon of support for local youth, offering free camps and providing an affordable workout space for members at just $30 per month.
