Island Lake Resort nears re-opening
Island Lake Resort near Fernie will open for summer operations on Friday, June 26.
The property gate will open at 8 a.m. on July 26.
Mike McPhee, Director of Sales and Marketing with Island Lake Resort Group reported summer will start with both the Bear Lodge Bistro and Tamarack Dining Room opening for food and beverage service.
“Operations will differ from the past, but we are excited to be able to offer the Island Lake experience to our guests,” McPhee said.
Island Lake’s trails will also open on June 26 “and we encourage everyone to get out and enjoy nature safely. At this time, we do need to limit access on our often-busy road and ask that everyone refrain from doing bike shuttles for the Lazy Lizard trail. The trail was built as an “up and down” trail and we ask that you use it as such,” McPhee said.
Canoes will also be available starting on June 26.
“At this time we are still evaluating how to best operate our accommodation lodges. Please stay posted as we work on this part of our business. We have put in place a number of policies and procedures to keep our staff and guests safe. These are posted around the lodges and on our website. Please adhere to all social distancing and COVID-19 related guidelines, signage and policies,” he concluded.
