Letter to the Editor

I have some experience in ammonia refrigeration, thus I have followed the events about the tragic ammonia event in Fernie.

I have also reviewed the technical report produced by government Technical Safety BC. This report causes me distress due to its poor quality and totally misses some major points.

It clearly points out the lack of knowledge Technical Safety BC has, and its compliance in unsafe operation of refrigeration plants, and procedure within, thus contributing to the unnecessary deaths.

As uncomfortable as this letter may be, having an independent review may prove that the deaths of the loved ones were not in vain.
