Mainroad East Kootenay would like to advise local motorists and stakeholders that Highway 3, at four kms east of Fernie, is reopening to full traffic at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17. The temporary detour to Dickens Road, while flood clean-up work was taking place, will be removed.

The storm clean-up and water flow has subsided and receded to safely allow traffic to resume on Highway 3. Mainroad crews will continue monitoring the water flows 24/7 with equipment on standby if required.

We thank all motorists for their patience during the flood clean up as shown in the pictures below from yesterday and today.
