Sparwood Amazon storage locker plundered
On January 7, Elk Valley Regional RCMP received a report from a local Amazon delivery service that a storage locker found in the 5000 block of Highway 43 in Sparwood containing a number of Amazon packages was broken into overnight sometime between the hours of 6 p.m. on January 6 to 11 a.m. on January 7.
Approximately 30 packages for residents in the local area were stolen.
“At writing, it is unknown what was taken or to whom the orders belonged. There were items which were moved by the unknown suspects, but not taken, so these were seized for possible forensic investigation as well as some other items left after the break in occurred,” said S/Sgt. Svend Nielsen, Elk Valley RCMP Detachment commander.
“There is very limited CCTV coverage in that area, but RCMP believe that persons renting at that location may have set up their own security cameras or trail cameras around personal property left for storage which may provide some visual evidence of the theft.”
RCMP are looking for any witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity around the reported hours the theft could have occurred or perhaps may have recorded some activity on their personal security cameras left around their stored property or units.
Anyone with information can contact the Elk Valley Regional RCMP at 250-425-6233 or contact BC Crime Stoppers through their various platforms to report their information anonymously. Please refer to file 2025-57.
