The Regional District of East Kootenay reported at 3:23 p.m. (Sept. 9) that there is a tactical evacuation underway in the vicinity of Saunders and Palmer Roads in the Baynes Lake area.

Emergency responders are on scene conducting the tactical evacuation due to a wildfire in the area.

There are no other details available at this time – more will be shared as soon as more information becomes available.
