Teck boosts health care in the Elk Valley

Teck Resources has stepped up once again to support health care in the Elk Valley by donating an amazing $184,875 to Elk Valley Hospital, Sparwood Health Care Centre and Elkford Health Care Centre.

The donations were made in lieu of holding staff Christmas parties under current COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings.

The funds were graciously donated to the three health care facilities in the Elk Valley to support the modernization of medical equipment.

This donation comes on the heels of another wonderful $100,000 that Teck made to Foundry East Kootenay, a walk-in wellness centre focusing on mental health and substance use for youth ages 12-24 whom reside in the East Kootenay.

Brenna Baker, Executive Director for the East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH) commented, ā€œWe are filled with gratitude and thank you is not enough for the amount that Teck does for our East Kootenay Communities. The EKFH could not do the work that we do without the generous support from Teck and their employees. Every time we have a need in health care, Teck is always willing to see how they can assist.

“Not only do they give monetarily but they help to spread the word on the good work that we are trying to accomplish. The partnership that we have with Teck is invaluable to our organization and I want to thank everyone at Teck for the work that they do!ā€

Teck has given over $680,000 to health care in the East Kootenay Region. To find out more about the work that the EKFH is doing for health care please visit ekfh.ca or call 1-877-489-6481.
