Imagine Kimberley seeking Community in Bloom champion

Imagine Kimberley/Kimberley Chamber of Commerce is asking Kimberley residents if anyone is interested in spearheading a Communities in Bloom project. If so, chamber manager Sioban Staplin has information at the chamber office.

How to be a Community in Bloom
WHO:  Any municipality, regional district or geographical area that is a ‘community’ may participate, it can be citizen or civic initiated.
WHY:  The program inspires the community to enhance and celebrate their uniqueness. A Bloom Rating is awarded as a measurement of the overall quality of the livability in the community.
WHEN: B.C. Communities in Bloom Judges tour the province in July, this annual event supplies focus and a deadline for participants.
WHERE: A pair of judges evaluates your community over a full day.
WHAT: CiB provides an evaluation report offering comments and suggestions on your community’s tidiness, environmental action, heritage conservation, urban forestry, landscape, turf & groundcovers, floral displays and community involvement of municipal, business and private sectors. A Bloom Rating and report results are presented at fall awards events.
