KS helps grant Christmas wishes

Tis the season of giving… and giving back, and the Kootenay Savings Community Foundation has the spirit.

The Foundation recently helped grant wishes for fifteen diverse and dedicated community groups by awarding $37,700 in new grants, along with a donation of $30,000 to be shared between eight locally-operated community foundations.

The 15 organizations benefitting from this latest round of funding include:

Columbia Valley Community Foundation -$3,529; Kimberley & District Community Foundation – $3,758; Kimberley Military Ames – $10,000; Castlegar & District Hospital Foundation – $4,000; Community Foundation of Castlegar & District – $4,160; Community Fund of North Kootenay Lake – $2,270; Connected Through Sport Society – $5,000; Healthy Community Society of North Slocan Valley – $1,200; 
Kootenay Centre for Forestry Alternatives – $5,000; LeRoi Community Foundation – $8,241 
; Nakusp & Area Community Foundation – $2,050 
; North Kootenay Lake Community Services Society – $2,500; Salmo Community Resource Society – $1,916
; Slocan Valley Community Legacy Society -$4,075 
; Trail Historical Society & Public Library – $10,000.
