Local home builder a finalist for Keystone Awards

Kimberley-based home building company, Munter Design & Build Corp, has made the short list for The Keystone Awards, the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) Central Interior’s housing excellence awards.

Munter Design & Build Corp., founded by Robin and Amy Brazenall, is now vying for the Gold spot in the Best Single Family Detached Home $500,000-$750,000 category.

“The Keystone Awards is like the Oscars of the residential construction industry,” explained CHBA Central Interior president Jere Lorenz.

There are over 20 categories that homebuilders, developers and interior/house designers can enter their projects. It’s open to all CHBA members who have built or renovated a residence in the B.C.’s Central Interior and/or East Kootenay regions.

This year the CHBA Central Interior received a record-number of entries.

“It goes to show how busy our industry has been over the last few years, and we’re excited to recognize these members for all their hard work,” said Lorenz.

The Keystone Awards has been held since 2005. However, due to the pandemic, the CHBA Central Interior did not hold an awards ceremony in 2021—making the 2022 Awards Gala a bit different.

“We accepted entries from 2019 to October 2021, to make up for the year we couldn’t host the Keystones,” explained Lorenz.

This year’s black-tie gala event will be held on February 12, 2022 at the Thompson Rivers University Grand Hall.
