Local retired Mountie receives 30-year silver clasp

S/Sgt Lorne Craig from RCMP Southeast District and Kimberley Detachment Commander Sgt. Steve Woodcox recently presented retired Sgt. Chris Newel with his 30-year silver clasp.

The silver clasp with two stars represents 30 years of exemplary service and good conduct.

Sgt. Newel retired from the RCMP in November 2020 with over 30-years service. In addition to the silver clasp he also received an undress ribbon and a certificate of service from the Commissioner.

Normally the force holds a presentation ceremony but the COVID-19 pandemic has prevented that.
