The City of Kimberley reports yesterday’s prescribed burn in Lois Creek was successful.

“Thank you for your patience while we conduct this important work with our partners at BC Wildfire Service,” the city stated on social media this morning (Sept. 9).

While there is some residual smoke from yesterday’s burn, the majority of the smoke present in and around Kimberley today is traveling to Canada from the United States and is not a result of the Lois Creek burn, the city noted.
