Notes from City Hall

Transit Commuter Service

The Kimberley Transit System now provides a weekday commuter service, making it easier and more convenient for Kimberley residents to get to Cranbrook for work, appointments or school. The new commuter service will run Monday through Friday, arriving in Cranbrook between 8:10 and 8:20 a.m., and leaving for Kimberley in the evenings between 4:40 and 4:50 p.m. For more information about schedule and route, please visit bctransit.com/Kimberley.

Streets and Traffic

The Bylaw Officer continues to enforce the Streets and Traffic Bylaw 1877, 2015 and reminds residents of the following:

  • Campers and licensed cars, trucks, trailers, RVs, boat trailers, etc. are not to be left or stored on streets, lanes or boulevards which interfere or obstruct snow plowing and/or snow removal.
  • Recreational vehicles must be off the streets and boulevards by October 15.
  • Unattached utility and construction trailers are not permitted on city streets. They must be attached to a vehicle, or stored on private property.
  • Unlicensed vehicles, trailers, boat trailers, etc., are not to be parked on streets, lanes or boulevards at any time.
  • All waste, refuse, building materials, rocks, wood, bricks, dirt, yard clippings etc. from private property are not to be placed on lanes, boulevards and other public property, as this may impede snow plowing and/or snow removal and cause damage to city equipment and injury to equipment Operators.

Non-Compliance with the Streets and Traffic Bylaw may result in a fine, or the city removing or towing these items at the property ownerā€™s expense. Your cooperation is appreciated.
