Nov. 26 town hall to look at proposed logging plan
Wildsight is hosting an informal town hall gathering Tuesday, November 26 to learn about proposed logging in the Upper St. Mary’s Valley.
Also known locally as ‘The Forks,’ potential logging plans from BC Timber Sales and Canfor in the White, Dewar and West Fork drainages could have significant impacts on the wildlife, biodiversity and ecosystems of this critical part of the Purcell Mountains, and add to the already devastating private land clearcuts that have taken place in the past five to 10 years.
The St. Mary’s Valley is loved by locals and plays a critical role for wildlife connectivity and habitat. Join us to learn about what is proposed for this area and how we can protect its important ecosystems.
Come to the Grist’n’Mash Brewery in Kimberley on Tuesday November 26, from 7-9 p.m.
