1950 – 2017

It is with deep sorrow that the family of James Monteith announces his passing on Monday, June 5, 2017 in Cranbrook, BC at 66 years of age.

Jim was born on December 20, 1950 in Kimberley, BC. He was a Happy Valley – Lois Creek mail carrier for 34 years. Jim was a bowler for many years, and once went to Las Vegas with his bowling team. In his later years, Jim was involved in carpet bowling, floor curling and bowling. Jim loved his extended family and was especially fond of all his nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed.

Jim is survived by his sister Marjorie Beetstra of Salmo, BC, his brother Rod (Arla) Monteith of Wasa, BC, his brother Rich (Liz) Monteith of Wycliffe, BC and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was predeceased by his mother and father Elizabeth and William Monteith, his niece Tanyia Curry and his brother-in-law Danny Beetstra.

A memorial service for Jim will be held at the Kimberley United Church on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
